APPLE JUICE WITH NO ICE
Inspired by the special needs community, "Apple Juice with No Ice" tells the story of Joey, who reluctantly accepts a new job taking Miles, a high school boy with special needs, out to dinner each week. Over the course of this heartfelt coming-of-age short film, Joey forms an unexpected and genuine bond with Miles, dismantling the stereotypes he once held. In the end, he learns the true meaning of friendship. And that life is better with no ice.

Logline (Documentary): A filmmaker explores the power of authentic inclusion, revealing that when people with special needs are given the chance to portray their own characters, stories gain a level of honesty and impact Hollywood can’t fake. This is a truth she discovered firsthand while casting her brother with special needs in her proof-of-concept short film, where he went on to win Best Supporting Actor in a Short Film. The experience became living proof that authentic representation has the power to transform both stories and the storytellers behind them.
